The Thomas Jefferson Soil and Water Conservation District provides programs and services to protect our local watersheds and the Chesapeake Bay. 

The US Department of Agriculture - Rural Development administers Business Programs to provide financial backing and technical assistance to stimulate business creation and growth in rural communities. The programs work through partnerships with public and private community based organizations and financial institutions to provide financial assistance, business development, and technical assistance to rural businesses.

The Albemarle County / Charlottesville office of Virginia Cooperative Extension is your local connection to Virginia's land-grant universities, Virginia Tech and Virginia State University. Through educational programs based on research and developed with input from local stakeholders, we help the people of Albemarle County / Charlottesville improve their lives. We provide education through programs in Agriculture and Natural Resources, Family and Consumer Sciences, 4-H Youth Development, and Community Viability.

The Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS) promotes the economic growth and development of Virginia agriculture, provides consumer protection and encourages environmental stewardship.
